These awards will feature finalists from across Scotland:

Scotland’s Best Family Friendly Restaurant

This award aims to highlight (and thank!) the most family friendly eatery in Scotland.

Scotland’s Best Gelateria

A good ice cream makes everything better; this category will award both truly unique flavours and classic recipes.

Scotland’s Favourite Italian Business

This award is for any Scottish based business that is led with an Italian head & heart! This category is not limited to the hospitality industry and therefore welcomes all nominations.

Scotland’s Best Trattoria

This category aims to celebrate the more informal venues that cater for casual nights out; focusing on good food and great company.

Scotland’s Best Wine List

This category is for those Italian wine selections that perfectly compliment your dish, making it your meal unforgettable.

Scotland’s Best ‘cuoco’ of the year

Finalists in this category will have to amaze you and our judges with a unique and first-class dish.  All finalists in this category will be required to attend a practical final the cook-off on Wednesday 23rd October at the Glasgow City College.

Scotland’s Best Pasta

A chance to celebrate Nonna’s secret recipe! Best pasta will be judged on a single dish, so prepare to dazzle our panel with your signature pasta. All finalists in this category will be required to attend a practical final the cook-off on Wednesday 23rd October at the Glasgow City College.

Scottish Barista Champion

Making coffee is an art in Italy and we are looking to find he is entitled to be called ‘master barista’ in Scotland. This category is nominations only and venues must enter their ‘barista’ person. All nominated baristas will be required to attend a practical challenge (details tbc).

Scotland’s Best Fish and Chips

The award for those venues that keep alive the authentic Scots-Italian recipe for fish & chips from past generations.

Scotland’s Best Pizzeria 

Our judges are looking for a truly authentic venue that evokes the iconic Italian eatery. Finalists will be asked to show their full prep and baking process.

Scotland’s Best Deli/Café

We’re looking for the best takeaway or sit in delicatessen; selling everything from the perfect panini and sweet treats to gorgeous deli cuts and original Italian produce.

Scotland’s Best Newcomer

A chance for new and emerging Italian enterprises to win a valuable accolade to celebrate their early success in the Italian culinary industry.

Scotland’s Best Team 

For that team that really goes the extra mile and work together like no other.

Scotland’s Best Authentic Italian Menu

We are looking for Scottish establishments which effectively represent Italian tradition and originality through their food options. This category focuses heavily on ingredients used to signify specific Italian cities and regions, such as through the use of FDO and PGI-stamped ingredients.

Scotland’s Best Family Owned Restaurant 

This award recognises restaurants who have their Italian family roots embedded in everything they do, from cooking the finest quality dishes to serving their loyal customers.

 

REGIONAL AWARDS

These awards will reward the very best venues in their regions before crowing an overall national winner. Our regionalised categories will be:

 

Scotland’s Best Italian Restaurant under 50 seats

This category is assigned to an outstanding Italian restaurant under 50 seats which is loved by the public for both their authentic, high-quality food and admirable service.

Scotland’s Best Italian Restaurant over 50 seats

This category is assigned to an outstanding Italian restaurant over 50 seats which is loved by the public for both their authentic, high-quality food and admirable service.

UK National Italian Pizza Championship (Scottish/Irish final)

The UK Pizza Championship in association with the Italian Awards is brought to life to award the best ‘pizzaiolo’ in the UK. Pizza chefs will challenge themselves in a practical final and they will be judged by a special guest directly from Italy.

Winner of the Scottish/Irish Final will be invited to showcase his talent at the UK National final in Glasgow. British winner then will challenge the Scottish/Irish winner and UK National winner will be announced in Glasgow on 10th November.
